| World Communion Sunday Worship Oct. 2, 2022 |
UCY will celebrate World Communion Sunday on Sunday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. in Battell Chapel on Yale’s “Old Campus.” World Communion is our celebration of the diversity of global Christianity and our unity at Holy Communion. Pastor Ian Oliver will preach and Associate Pastor Jenny Peek will celebrate the Eucharist. Members of the congregation will read scripture and lead prayers in different languages. Mattias Lundberg will lead the UCY Choir in Ola Gjeilo’s “Ubi Caritas.” By Yale policy, all those attending should wear a face mask and should be up to date on their Covid vaccinations. Associate Pastor Jenny Peek returns to our pulpit after her new parent leave to preach on the story of Jesus and the ten lepers in Luke. Daryl Denelle will lead our prayers. Mattias Lundberg will lead our choir in Moses Hogan’s setting of “Abide with Me.” Yale College parents are welcome to join us for worship on “Family Weekend” and we will have a special coffee hour after worship. Current Yale policies require that all attendees and visitors be current on their COVID vaccines/boosters and wear a mask in the Chapel during worship.
