Community Service

Every semester, the University Church has a wide variety of community service opportunities.  We are deeply committed to involvement in the New Haven area and helping with its needs. Some of our usual volunteering includes making lunches, leading worship and serving at Chapel on the Green, an outreach for our homeless neighbors (approximately once a month). We also cook monthly dinners at Columbus House, a local homeless shelter (2nd Saturday of every month), support Abraham’s Tent, a winter program for homeless men staying over in local churches and synagogues (March/April) and work with Habitat for Humanity. In addition, our weekly Sunday offering is donated to service in New Haven in education, health care, homelessness, and many other areas.)
