Palm & Passion Sunday April 2, 2023 |
Weather permitting, we’ll begin our worship outside on Yale’s Old Campus at 10:30 p.m. with our palm procession into the Chapel. (Please note: Coffee and refreshments will be served in the Chapel at 10 a.m. - there will be no coffee hour after worship). Associate Pastor Jenny Peek will preach, Pastor Ian Oliver will celebrate Holy Communion and we will read the Passion according to St. Matthew together and strip the Chapel space and depart in silence. |

Maundy Thursday "Upper Room" Service, April 6 |
Our “Upper Room” Maundy Thursday Service begins at 5:30 p.m. with a simple dinner in Battell Chapel as we re-tell the story of Jesus and the Disciples in the “upper room.” We eat dinner together, we offer (voluntary) footwashing, and celebrate Holy Communion in a service interspersed with scripture readings and simple songs. Please RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can order food. |

Good Friday Worship April 7 |
Good Friday Worship at Battell Chapel at 5:00 p.m. includes solemn prayers, readings and songs about Jesus’ passion and crucifixion. UCY Associate Pastor Jenny Peek will preach. Students will lead a reading of the Passion. A time is set aside for lighting candles and veneration of the cross. The service is a joint effort by the Episcopal Church at Yale, LuMin at Yale, and the University Church in Yale. |
